Aptera 2e, the UFO of all UFOs. Now lets look here...
Out of all the Hybrid cars I have mocked fun through out my whole life, the Aptera 2e is the only Hybrid vehicle I have a bit of respect. In fact, I wont waste my time here bashing the Aptera 2e(kinda) and this is why: 330 MPG. First of all, if any car -- I don't care what it looks like, gets 300 MPG... you must respect that car. Aptera Motors is planning to launch this UFO car by 2011 here in the United States. The starting price? $20,000. Now that's one hell of a deal for a somewhat cool-looking car, well, at least it looks better than the Prius...
For a car that looks like a damn UFO, it is okay...

MDI AirPod looks like a UFO
The MDI AirPod is not a Hybrid, it is actually a car that is powered by air...
The MDI Air-Powered AirPod is one unique car I tell you what. This car doesn't use any gasoline, instead it has small tanks with compressed air that slowly releases air to the pistons. The AirPod uses a pair of wheels mounted side by side in the front to turn the vehicle—operated by the driver with a joystick—while the rear wheels provide power to the ground. The folks at MDI probably once worked for McDonald's designing local PlayPlaces. Yup... just look at those windows, it reminds me when I used to be 6-years-old having a blast at the McDonald's PlayPlace.
I wonder if the interior of this car has a balls pit-- that would be sweet!

2004 Audi RSQ looks like a UFO
This is the Audi from the movie I, Robot...
The 2004 Audi RSQ looked pretty bad ass in the film I, Robot. Although the film never said whether it was Hybrid or not, I am pretty sure it is an electric car and this is why:
1. In I, Robot, the Audi RSQ didn't have tires. In fact, this was a hovering car. A car that hovers? This means that this vehicle is powered magnetically, perhaps the same technology subways and today's trains have. Which means that this car is powered electrically in some way.
2. The year 2025? Unfortunately, all cars will be Hybrids. If not, 100% electric.
My only concern about this movie is that the Audi RSQ is not a car Will Smith would drive. Why? A car without rims? Will Smith looks like someone who would love to put 22s on his car any day.

Nissan Pivo 2 looks like UFO
Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you the Nissan Pivo 2...
The Nissan Pivo 2 was first introduced in the Tokyo Motor Show in November 2008. According to various highlights of the Tokyo Motor Show, the Pivo 2 was actually ridiculed during the show by critiques and viewers. I don't blame the Japanese, because if I was there, I would have probably been laughing my ass off too at this intergalactic vehicle.
The Pivo 2 possesses a cabin that revolves 360-degrees, so you don’t have to reverse, also, a front door can be accessed from any position. This car has only 2 seats. It is rather small, so the maneuverability is extremely high. Pivo is a very user and environmentally friendly car. Nissan also announce that Pivo was going to be 100% electric powered, including opening the doors. My guess is if the battery power is out, there must be an emergency exit button somewhere.
Because the Pivo 2 offers incredible packaging characteristics, high distribution of torque to 4 wheels and possesses 2 electric motors - the image above is what people in 20th century call the "steering wheel." I am not sure why this car is called the Pivo '2,' but all I know is that I don't want to know what the Pivo 1 is.

Toyota RiN looks like a UFO
Meet the Toyota RiN, one of the oddest and greenest cars I have probably ever seen in my life...
I know your first impression when you first saw this car: What...The...Fuck!? You are not alone. This bizarre piece of shit is considered one of the most greenest prototypes Toyota has ever worked on. The Japanese hippie who designed this car said that this car was "Designed to promote harmony with nature and evoke a warm, fuzzy feeling inside, the eco-friendly Toyota RiN concept car features heated ergonomic seats, an oxygen level regulator, a spot humidifier, a 'mood training' steering control system that monitors the driver’s psychological state, and greenish glass that protects against UV and infrared light while enhancing the natural beauty of the view outside." Oh really? This car sounds perfect for the $5 Psychic palm reader that works 2 blocks from my apartment. The good news is, Toyota has canceled all production for the Toyota RiN until further notice.

Honda's Hybrid concept sports car looks like a UFO
At the recent Geneva Motor Show, Honda unveiled a small Hybrid concept car that they labeled it as a sports car.
If this vehicle ever makes it to the dealers, Honda announced that it will come with 20 inch factory rims, 2-doors, and digital cameras in front and back. I don't understand why do automakers believe that if a car saves gas, it must have all corners rounded and have the rooftop as rounded as possible. You can't deny that this vehicle looks out of this world and more like a car that you might see in sci-fi movie that takes place somewhere in the year 2030. I am a big fan of Honda myself, but when I see concept Hybrid automobiles such these, I wonder if aircraft designers are in charge of the Hybrid department at Honda. The good news about this concept car is that this car is nowhere near production.

Third Generation Toyota Prius looks like a UFO
Welcome to Hybrid Cars That Look Like UFOs. In today's first official blog, I would like to talk about the 3rd Generation Prius that recently launched this Spring 2009.
"It's even uglier than the previous Prius models!"
What is wrong with Toyota's auto designers? Making a Hybrid vehicle look like a goddamn UFO won't gain the car any more MPG. According to Toyota, they believe that these round-shaped cars makes them save a bit more gas because of less wind resistance. But seriously, how much more gas does this aerodynamic design makes the Prius save? I bet is less than a gallon every 100 miles. The day an automaker develops a hybrid car, that looks like real car, that will be the day I will consider purchasing a Hybrid.
